6th Annual Charity Dog Show Information- 2023

We would like to invite everyone to join us at the 6th Annual VetBros Charity Dog Show! This fun event will be held August 6th from 10am - 3pm at the Carol Stream Town Center (960 N. Gary Ave, Carol Stream, IL 60188). There will be over 50 vendors, rescues and organizations joining us! Come check out their animals up for adoption, get free giveaways, purchase great pet items like treats and embroidered leashes and more. There will also be food vendors, dessert vendors, alchohol sales, facepainters and more! Come have your dog run an agility course and check out our doggy water play area too! How fun!

We will have many events for pets to participate in (see below for schedule), and pet families can win a variety of prizes! All proceeds go to The VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund. This event will directly help pet owners in our community with hardships that they may be undergoing. Please consider participating in one of the fun events, making a charitable donation, or simply attending the event and supporting our cause.

10:30 Best Puppy
Any dog younger than 1 year old is eligible to compete in this event. The judge will assess each puppy on
their health, obedience, behavior, and appearance.

10:45 DOG RACE
Is your dog the fastest dog? Do they respond to commands? Will they even run to you or will they be too
distracted?!? We will see!!

11:00 Best Senior
Any dog over 7 years old is eligible to compete in this event. The judge will assess each senior dog on
their health, mobility, behavior, and appearance.

11:15 AGILITY
An agility presentation will be presented by Bark Avenue Daycamp. Following this presentation, we
welcome you and your dog to come try the agility equipment!

11:30 Best Junior Handler SPONSORED BY BARK AVENUE
Any owner under 18 years old may compete with their dog. The judges will assess how each owner
handles their dog, proper leash technique, obedience, and behavior

11:45 DOG RACE
Is your dog the fastest dog? Do they respond to commands? Will they even run to you or will they be too
distracted?!? We will see!!

12:00 Best Rescue under 30lbs SPONSORED BY PUMPKIN
Any rescue dog weighing less than 30lbs is welcome to compete in this competition. We are not limiting this competition to dogs from shelters and rescue organizations. If anyone has ‘rescued’ a dog from a bad situation they are eligible to compete. In this competition, we are looking for the best rescue story, which we understand is quite subjective. It will be up to the judge to assess which dog has the most heartwarming story and has shown resilience and inspiration.

12:15 AGILITY
An agility presentation will be presented by Bark Avenue Daycamp. Following this presentation, we
welcome you and your dog to come try the agility equipment!

12:30 Best Rescue over 30 lbs
Any rescue dog 30lbs or more is welcome to compete in this competition. We are not limiting this competition to dogs from shelters and rescue organizations. If anyone has ‘rescued’ a dog from a bad situation they are eligible to compete. In this competition, we are looking for the best rescue story, which we understand is quite subjective. It will be up to the judge to assess which dog has the most heartwarming story and has shown resilience and inspiration.

12:45 DOG RACE
Is your dog the fastest dog? Do they respond to commands? Will they even run to you or will they be too
distracted?!? We will see!!

1:00 Best Voice
Any dog is welcome to compete in this competition. Judges will assess the dog based on ability to vocalize
on command, volume, and control.

1:15 AGILITY
An agility presentation will be presented by Bark Avenue Daycamp. Following this presentation, we
welcome you and your dog to come try the agility equipment!

1:30 Best Trick
Any dog is welcome to compete in this competition. The judge will assess each trick based on proper
execution, trick type, how funny/impressive the trick is, and their ability to repeat the trick.

1:45 DOG RACE
Is your dog the fastest dog? Do they respond to commands? Will they even run to you or will they be too distracted?!? We will see!!

2:00 Best Costume
Any dog is welcome to compete in this category. The judge will assess each dog based on their costume, how well it fits, and how well it goes with each individual dog based on appearance and personality. Each dog will also be judged on how well they strut their stuff on the catwalk!! Owners are encouraged to wear a costume that complements their pooch's look.

2:15 CLOSE OF RAFFLE AND RAFFLE CONTEST- Winners Announced!
You do not need to be present to win.

2:30 Prettiest Pooch
Any dog is welcome to compete in this competition. The judge will assess each dog based on their well brushed/groomed fur!

2:45 CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS
Our 9 first place contest winners will be competing for the BEST IN SHOW prize!

The Carol Stream Animal Hospital has collaborated with the Chicago Veterinary Medical Foundation & enrolled in the AVMF Veterinary Care Charitable Fund. These programs are created to help support veterinarians in offering low or no-cost services to clients facing extraordinary hardships, as well as to support animals rescued from abuse and neglect.

We hope you join the fun and help support our great community!  This event is to show off all our sweet puppies with non-stop cuteness. We also want to promote proper socialization, fitness and health and help strengthen the human animal bond. Please make sure all puppies are properly vaccinated before coming to this event.




Charity Dog Show BEST TRICK 

This "America's DOG's Got Talent" event encourages any dog with a talented trick to show our community what you can do. We have seen so many amazing tricks that owners have taught their pets over the years, and we want everyone to come out and show off their talents. COME JOIN THE FUN!!

All proceeds go to The VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund. This event will directly help pet owners in our community with any hardships that they may be undergoing. Please consider participating in one of the fun events, making a charitable donation, or simply attending the event and supporting our cause.

The VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund will be hosting this event. This program was created to help support veterinarians in offering low or no-cost services to clients facing extraordinary hardships, as well as to support animals rescued from abuse and neglect. The VetBros Pet Education Charitable Fund is a 501c3 organization that contributes considerable time and money each year to local animal health-related charitable endeavors in Carol Stream and the greater Chicago area. This charitable organization helps veterinarians be empowered to provide charitable care to those in need right here in our community, including disabled veterans requiring a service dog, low income senior citizens, Good Samaritans who rescue domesticated animals, and victims of domestic violence. Any dog over 7 years old is eligible to compete in this event. The judge will assess each senior dog on their health, mobility, behavior, and appearance. We also encourage handlers to share any interesting or fun stories you have that may help with a tie-breaker scenario.

11:00 am: Dog Races - WIN FUN PRIZES

11:00am -Best Trick

Any dog is welcome to compete in this competition. The judge will assess each trick based on proper execution, trick type, how funny/impressive the trick is and their ability to repeat the trick. If your dog can do multiple tricks, it’s probably best to select the top three to showcase during the event.

11:15 am: Dog Races - WIN FUN PRIZES

11:30 am - Best Puppy
